This course is designed to train persons who are responsible for undertaking Controller of Site Safety - Overhead Line Permit training and COSS CRP training as part of their duties on Network Rail Infrastructure. It is designed to develop a person’s knowledge, understanding and skills and is therefore particularly suited to persons required to prove their competence in these areas.

Key Aims

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the skills and underpinning knowledge required to undertake Controller of Site Safety (COSS) duties. Including the requirements as laid down in Handbook 6 (general duties of an IWA), Handbook 7 (General duties of a COSS), Handbook 8 (IWA, COSS or PC blocking a line), Handbook 9 (IWA or COSS setting up a safe system of work within a possession), Handbook 10 (duties of the COSS and person in charge of a hand trolley), Handbook 13 (duties of the person in charge of the siding), Conductor Rail Permit (CRP) and Overhead Line Permit (OLP).

Minimum age 18 | Hold PTS Competence | Hold a sentinel track safety card and meet the requirements of NR/L2/CTM/021 | Meet the medical requirements of NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence specific fitness medical requirements | Meet the D&A requirements of NR/L1/OHS/00120
