Authorised Person (AP) - Initial
Key Aims:
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the skills and underpinning knowledge required to undertake Authorised Person (AP) duties. Including identification of electrical hazards, earthing of different OLE equipment types, use of resistive and capacitive live line testers, RoLE and test before touch (TBT)
Pre-requisites & Requirements:
Minimum age 18 | Hold PTS Competence for 12monts | Meet the D&A requirements of NR/L1/OHS/0124 Medical Fitness level 1-4 | Meet the D&A requirements of NR/L1/OHS/051 | Evidence of12months relevant work experience in OLE maintenance or construction or completed a company development programme which has been reviewed & written acceptance by the Network Technical Head of Contract Systems | must hold Emergency First Aid certificate.
Authorised Person (AP) - Recert

The aim of this course is to refresh delegates knowledge of Authorised Person (AP) duties. Including identification of electrical hazards, earthing of different OLE equipment types, use of resistive and capacitive live line testers, RoLE and test before touch (TBT)

Including; The management of the OLE isolation process, conduct pre-isolation work to identify & assess electrical hazards, earthing locations, bonding requirements and lineside disconnectors. The use of isolation diagrams and instructions to produce Form B’s. Write, brief and issue switching, testing and earthing details forms for AP’s. Receive and cancel form B’s from electrical control operators. Brief, issue and cancel OLP (Form C) with a COSS (OLP).

Minimum age 18 | Hold PTS Competence for 12monts and Level B Authorised Person competence | Meet the D&A requirements of NR/L1/OHS/0124 Medical Fitness level 1-4 | Meet the D&A requirements of NR/L1/OHS/051 | must have 12 log book entries as evidence of Level B Authorised person duties
